Hacked
My account was hacked this morning and made a purchase for Fifa coins for over 100£, I called ebay and they basically told me there is nothing they can do apart from "flag it" as fraud. My issue is I have 2FA and a passkey on my iphone, but i only got notified of any activity after the purchase was made and "collected"..
I don't know what to do as my bank tell me its on ebay and ebay tell me its on my bank to reverse the payment.

Mentor5 months agoWas this a debit card funded payment from your bank or did you have money in your eBay balance from some sales and the hacker used that?
To be honest, it's not that easy to access an eBay account with that kind of account authentication set up. If this is the case, I'd be looking at other online accounts you use that iPhone for. Email is the one you should be worried about as that's pretty much a gateway to all accounts.

OP5 months agoIt was a debit card funded payment, problem is the email to access it its also a 2fa Gmail that I changed the password for this year routinely which is what's puzzling me. Essentially 2 sets of 2fa failed on me apparently.
This hacker seemed to know what they were doing as well as when i got the notification on my phone that and item has been delivered i could not find any purchases on my account until i "unhid" it from the list which suggests this hacker has probably been doing this for a while as it all felt too quick and deliberate.

Mentor5 months agoIf it's a debit card funded payment then you need to report it as an unauthorised transaction to your bank, this is nothing to do with eBay and the agent you spoke with was correct, there is nothing they can do their end.
There is a new scam with accessing gmail accounts, obviously I can't go into detail here, but I recommend using Proton. I'd check your phone for malware too.
