Genuine or not ?

Hi before I go ahead and buy a ring I need to know if it’s genuine or not ! The seller in India says it’s genuine ! Of course he would. But having a lot of jewellery I know that real emeralds and diamonds are not cheap! But this ring is very cheap (a bargain if real) and I’m reluctant to part with a few hundred quid for a fake ! And then when I get it I get it appraised by my jeweller friend and he says I’ve been conned. So then I’d have to pay return costs for something that wasn’t real in the first place? Does anyone understand where I’m coming from?

I like to see, handle and try on before I pay more than about £50 for any jewellery.
