Formal Complaint Regarding Unacceptable Customer Service and Request for Call Recording
I contacted eBay customer support at approximately 1:37 AM because I had a genuine issue that was troubling me.
I am not calling eBay at 1:37 AM for fun or because I have nothing better to do. If I am awake in the middle of the night contacting customer support, obviously there is a genuine problem and I need help.
Instead of receiving support, I was repeatedly transferred from one department to another. After approximately 36 minutes, the representative told me that they had other customers waiting and then hung up my call.
What made it worse was that before she disconnected, I politely asked for her name and the reference number for the call. She refused to provide them, said there were other customers waiting, and then ended the call.
I remained respectful throughout the conversation and did not use abusive or inappropriate language. I invite eBay to review the full recorded call and confirm this for themselves.
As a loyal eBay customer, I find this treatment completely unacceptable. Customers should not be made to wait for 36 minutes, repeatedly transferred, and then have their call terminated simply because other customers are waiting.
Being busy does not justify treating a customer with disrespect.
I would like eBay to review the recording, investigate how this call was handled, provide the call reference, and explain why the representative disconnected me while I was still seeking assistance.
Please do not respond with a generic message. I would appreciate someone from eBay properly reviewing the recorded call and addressing what actually happened.
