Foreign bodies in a drink purchase
I found 2 foreign bodes in my £28 powdered drink. I did contact the seller and because of his flippant manner and the length of time he takes to respond to my messages, I've asked him for a refund. I have tried searching through ebay's help & contact and its becoming a joke. Tried the chatbot (waist of time). I want a to ask ebay to get involve.
Can anyone HELP me please?

OP6 months agoThank you all for your responses. I escalated it with ebay and I am waiting for a return label.
Question - when I do return the package, should I send the two foreign bodies within the package or keep them, even though I have pictures of them?

·6 months agoPersonally, I would send them - maybe in a separate little bag or sellotaped to a card etc.
I found foreign bodies in a box of muesli once and the manufacturer told me they were quartz crystals (!) and offered an explanation as to how they could be in their cereal.

Mentor6 months agoIn essence it does not really matter. If you think the item is faulty that is it for eBay.
EBay will not do any "investigation". The seller has a very short time to send the label [escalate if they do not within 4 days] and issue a subsequent refund.
Although your action is only against the seller I would agree that if it is a famous UK manufacturer it would be a good back up to let them know

There is a link to eBay's money back guarantee in every liting. This would have explained exactly how to claim your money back. Personally I would never buy any food or drink products from unknown sellers on eBay.
If the manufacturer is in the UK they would probably appreciate being informed. If the seller is a UK registered business seller, given their bad attitude you might want to consoder reporting your experience to the Food Standards Agency. If they are a private seller or abroad there's probably not much point in trying.
Do PLEASE remember that eBay actually warns buyers in the user agreement that they don't guarantee the quality, safety or legality of items advertised here. Why would you even think of buying powdered drink from a site which openly warns buyers that they can't guarantee it will be safe or even legal?

·6 months agoHelp & Contact (top left of your Ebay page) should be your 'go to'.
I put 'return an item' and it took me instantly to a helpful page.
Open a return request
