Forced to use Simple delivery, DHL never collected from me.
Haven't sold on eBay for a few months because of previous headaches (eBay telling buyers I would deliver faster than amazon prime), just decided to sell a guitar amp. Simple Delivery stated my packaged parcel was "bulky" and I was forced to use DHL, £12.97 cost.
The DHL bulky service was listed as a collection service, that they would collect from my house. All I had to do was write the delivery number on the package and their courier would come and bring their label and pick it up from my house.
The email I got said my courier would be with me between 12:11pm and 13:11pm today.
They never showed up. I've been sat next to the door all day, no notes posted through the letterbox to say their tried.
Emails received confirm that the collection address is right, that the service is a collected service.
It's now 7:45pm and they still haven't showed up. I was forced to use simple delivery and pay a whopping £12.97 for a service, and they haven't collected. Am I expected to pay another £12.97 to roll the dice again?
What should I do? re book another delivery service outside of eBay? Do I get a refund? This isn't fair for the buyer as he will have to wait even longer now.

DHL promised collection on the 11th, then the 12th, nothing over the weekend, then the 15th... never showed each time and ignored my attempts to contact support.
I ended up booking UPS outside of eBay via ParcelHero which cost another £14 to get the item to the buyer. UPS collected yesterday and delivered today, so buyer got it in the end which is good.
DHL finally turned up today (after the item was already delivered by UPS). If I relied on eBay’s “simple delivery” the buyer would have still been waiting for days.
I’ve already filed for a simple delivery label refund since DHL never provided the service, though I technically used the label. Hoping I get a refund, but we will see.
