Mentor1 week agoBefore you go to the ombudsman, look at your account ' through eBay's eyes', and see it for what it is, a good security measure for both buyer and for the seller.
You haven't sold for a while, and sudden selling activity on a dormant account, especially the sale of 2 expensive phones, can be a sign the account is being hijacked, happens all the time.
eBay therefore hold payments for those items until satisfied the items have been delivered, they are real, so no case for item not as described will be opened, then they release the payouts.
You will receive your money, the hold is a very effective one, I answer fewer questions than ever before, from sellers asking what to do as their account is showing expensive items sold which they have no knowledge of, and they end up owing thousands of pounds.

OP1 week agoThey will have to answer for there actions and it will cost them time and money and they will get investigated, you have to have a reason and my account said I would be paid tomorrow and now they have decided another 30 days and won’t tell me why . Companies get to big and think they are above everything, let’s see

OP1 week agoI spoke to them Friday and as long as I have a final response they will, and eBay have closed my complaint so the answer is yes they will

Mentor1 week agoSome years ago I complained to the ombudsman about an investment company that wanted to deduct part of the value of my returned investment under a clause that allowed them to penalise withdrawals at times of severe stock market turbulence.
In fact, it was not a time of market turbulence. The markets had been stable for over a year and share price fluctuation had not been abnormal.
I lost because the legal agreement gave the fund management the power to restrict the return of investments if they judged this to be necessary. The ombudsman ruled that they could only consider whether the fund mangers had acted within their powers, which they had. Whether their decision had been correct or justified was outside the ombudsman's role to determine.
You may want to consider my experience if thinking of making a complaint to the ombudsman.

OP1 week agoThey are given me no reason for holding the funds , was told by one advisor the money should be released tomorrow, pass me to someone else to process then to be told 30 + days because of circumstances on my account, the buyer had left feedback and said he is happy, so what excuses can there be .
Raising a complaint with the ombudsman in the morning, will give them something to do

As an infrequent seller ebay likes to take precautions against any charge backs, which you have no doubt agreed to by selling on ebay. Selling implies that you agree to ebay’s terms and conditions.

So ebay will hold funds to verify you.
All explained in agreement you signed when opening account.
