Fed up of ebay
Summary: elaine1066 expressed frustration with repeated issues as an eBay buyer, including misleading listings, shipping problems, and policy violations. They highlighted the inefficiencies in resolving these issues, having to engage in lengthy interactions with customer service. They voiced disappointment in eBay's platform, comparing it unfavorably to other options like Vinted and Etsy. tobiasd4 suggested relying on automated case resolutions instead of contacting support, but elaine1066 responded that this process had not been effective for them.
Yes, it is another moan post. Since January I have had roughly eight orders as a buyer where I have had to contact ebay due to the somewhat dubious antics of the seller, parcels not what they were sold as, parcels sent and gone missing, parcels stolen from various courier depots, parcels taking over a month (UK to UK shipping) and now a lightweight item I bought sent untracked even though I paid 11.95 shipping and the seller has a second account with the item I purchased for sale at four times what I paid for on their first account. Every time these things happen it takes roughly half an hour to get a call back from ebay. We then go through the obligatory thank you for being a member for 25 years, we appreciate your loyalty and then the whole story has to be replayed until I get some answers. This latest one has me totally confused because after I paid ebay removed the listing due to policy violation. How does that happen when the buyer has already paid. Yet again I am waiting for the date to come around to sort my refund which will take about 15 minutes jumping through all the hoops ebay asks of me. I just no longer see ebay as a true purchasing platform as you end up having more admin. It's no wonder Vinted, Etsy, Vestiaire and Designer Exchange are looking so appealing at the moment. Your complaints fall on deaf ears. The advisor just told me she doesn't even know if they will remove the listing this latest seller has placed. Sorry for the negativity just disappointed I suppose.

Mentor1 week agoAccording to your feedback page you have only left two negs in the last year?
Did you perhaps leave others which were removed? The two I can see both refer to having to get a refund through eBay, or to reporting a seller to eBay. Any seller who knows the rules could have had these feedbacks removed by reporting them to eBay. It is not allowed to mention eBay's involvement when leaving feedback.

Mentor1 week agoYou don't need to contact ebay CS.
Cases are automated, so normally no human gets involved.
You open relevant ebay case and escalate on day 4 if not resolved.
