Faulty product received eBay offer no help seller ignores me
So recently I bought a support bracket made from plastic (3D printed) the item looks ok but once I have fitted I didn’t get to try it for a week or so because I’m still recovering from an accident where I broke all my lower legs bones and both ankles ,so I realise the product it separating where it’s not been made properly and contact the seller as this is what eBay suggest first of all ,I sent him pictures of the faulty item the seller agrees it’s not right and that it’s faulty and says don’t worry I’ll send you a new one out in a few days so I say thanks and accept that ,after a week and a half I’ve not had anything come through so I send the seller a message asking if he has sent it ,no reply so I send another message asking what’s going on …no reply so I open a case with eBay saying it’s not as described eBay say don’t worry we will help you ,after a week I check to see if I have any messages and there are none from eBay or from then seller so I wait a few more days and get a message saying the case is closed I assume they have refunded me as i haven’t had the item replaced as promised by the seller ,I contact eBay to be told the seller decided to reject the return and the case is now closed ! I talk to an eBay adviser on the phone who tells me I need to contact the seller again to show I’m making more effort ! I tell them I doubt I’ll hear anything as they haven’t replied to any messages apart from the first one where they apologised for the faulty item and said they would replace it ,so I send a few more messages and still no response (no surprise) .so now I am in a situation where eBay don’t want the help the hopeless seller has back peddled on his original decision and I’m out of pocket with a useless item .what shall I do ? Thanks

Mentor6 months agoIf you've been trying to negotiate a return with your seller then you may be out of time to do anything via eBay now.
When you received an item that isn't as described you have 30 days to open an eBay return.
Once opened, the seller has 3 business days to accept the return and issue you with a pre-paid returns label. If they don't, you can ask eBay to step in.
eBay will close a return request if you just leave it.

You have 60 days to leave feedback.

·6 months agoNeither Ebay nor the seller can just close a return if you choose the reason 'the item is not as described', unless you left it too late to open the case.
When did you receive the item and when did you open the case?
