faulty item returned
I recently bought a calculator which was faulty almost out of the box. The seller agreed to a return eventually but refused to cover the postage. I followed all the proof of postage and proof of receipt instructions and now Ebay has closed the return - decision is final - and I have not been refunded.
Is there a way to raise a dispute as I keep going around in circles with ebay and the seller refuses to respond

If you had opened a not as described case and followed it through the seller would have had to cover the return postage - what case did you open?

Mentor11 months agoYou must not have followed the steps for item not as described case correctly. A seller has to refund all you the buyer paid initially, which includes the postage you paid.
Only way a case for this closes without a refund to the buyer, is if you did not escalate , or opened the wrong case in the beginning, or opened it after 30 days.
If you receive a faulty item you must do the following and follow the instructions to a T.
You go right of the item in your Purchase History and from More Actions select... Return this item selecting the reason Item Does Not Match Description or Photos.
The seller needs to accept this case within 3 days and refund, if they want their item back first , they need to pay for that fully tracked return postage, then on receipt of their item they have 48 hours to refund you. If they don't , need to escalate the case, ask eBay to step in, and they'll force the refund.
Never listen to any excuse or promise from the seller to close the case early, and do not forget to escalate.
Somewhere in the above, some steps were not followed.
You cannot open another case for the same item with eBay and need to turn to your payment provider to try there, for a refund.
