Faulty item
Summary: rothwella shared their experience with a seller, where a dryer purchased from them fell apart within months. When contacted, the seller initially promised a replacement but later informed that they had none in stock and advised seeking a refund through eBay, which was not possible due to the time elapsed. The situation highlighted a warranty issue with a 12-month promise unfulfilled. **peaseblossom** suggested that it might be worth pursuing a claim through the money claim online service if the value justifies it.
I purchased a dryer 11/2/26 from a supplier DMD, it worked well until June and it litterly fell apart. I contacted the supplier who advised that they could not issue a refund, but they would send me a replacement in 3/5 days.(They collected the faulty item) Item was never received, I contacted them and was advised they had none in stock and I should request a refund from Ebay. Thsi is impossible as the order is 4 nonths old, (the machine has a 12 month warrenty) Obviously the supplier knows this, I even left them a good review as they were sending me a replacement. How can you deal with this issue, the supplier collected the item, agreed it was faulty and has basically told me to tell Ebay.

Mentor1 month agoJust my usual reminder - as its so important for buyers to realise this - that the user agreement (para 2) warns them that eBay does not guarantee the quality of items sold here, or that they will be truthfully described, safe - or even legal!
Would you buy from a shop that stated this? Even eBay's own money back guarantee only lasts for 30 days, after which they will not get involved. eBay is a jungle.
