Faulty etching press
I brought a second hand etching press - despite all efforts the item does not work at all as the handle does not move the roller. It cane to be in a crate on a pallet and was extremely heavy - the postage was £90.
How do i send this back ? I have never had to send an item this heavy
Do I need to show I can problem solve fixing the item? I am not mechanically minded at all
The seller states they do not accept returns. What impact will this have?
I have only just submitted a return request - it arrived 29th Jan - today is 1st March - I estimate it is just over 4 weeks- will this make a difference?
It cost over £300 ..... any help would be appreciated

It's a good thing that eBay's arithmetic is better than yours!
You must just have opened the case on the very last day of eBay's 30 day time limit. If you had missed the deadline, by hours or even minutes, eBay would not have been involved.

Mentor7 months agoeBay only allow 30 days for claims. Beyond that your return cannot be escalated. You might have just squeezed it in in time. You'll have to see if you can escalate it to ebay after 3 complete working days.
When sellers say "no returns" they can only apply to "change of mind" returns. Buyers are always entitled to refund if item is not described correctly.
If you are out of time for ebay contact your payment provider and ask them about a refund or chargeback.

OP7 months agoThank you for your response - very helpful.
I have started the claim today, Ebay have said I can ask them to step in from 5th March. Hopefully this is not to say I have no recourse.....
