False report has led to policy violation, next steps?
Summary: tomn1994 expressed frustration over a removed eBay listing, believing it complied with presale policies, despite being reported by another member who also sent an abusive message. tressygirl suggested that eBay might remove listings based on member reports and advised blocking the reporting member. tommystrezures speculated that the listing might have appeared as a business transaction, potentially violating eBay's private seller regulations.
Hi,
I had a listing removed for a policy violation which I believe is incorrect. According to the eBay policy for presale items it is allowed as long as it is made clear it is a presale item and you give confirmation the item will be sent within 40 business days.
My listing followed all of this. Yet it was reported by a rogue eBay member who also sent me a private message which has some personal abuse towards me.
I diligently followed the eBay listing guidelines policy for presales items and yet it does seem to have been removed. I even updated the dispatch time according to the longer presale timeline and it was completely clear from title and description.
Any thoughts please?
I don't know why eBay have removed it to be honest

Mentor1 month agoDoes the the message about the policy violation tell you specifically what policy has been breached?
Whilst the item may not have breached eBay's pre-sale policy it may have breached another.

Mentor1 month agoAs a private seller selling pre order items would suggest that you are buying to sell and that you haven't just found a pre order item hidden in your loft, which would imply you are perhaps trading incorrectly on eBay, this may have been the problem, I am not sure if you need to be a business or not to sell these types of items.

Mentor1 month agoIt's hard to know why, without seeing the actual item and description given, but it had to breach some selling regulation for eBay to remove it.
It may well be this same person reported the listing, as eBay do rely on members to report items.
If eBay's message did not explain how to relist the item, then best not to, as it could lead to stricter selling sanctions.
Have you blocked this member from buying items from you, and causing more hassle?
