False adverising
Hiya, i bought a duvet set from a seller on Ebay on the basis that it was pure Egyptian cotton material, it wasnt until I put it on my duvet that I realised that it wasnt cotton at all, that its more of a nylon material.
I personally think this is false advertising.
There's no where on Ebay where I can actually report this to under their help section, what do you think I should do please?
I've contacted the seller but I haven't had any response back.
I've worked in the retail business for over 40 years so I know how serious it is to falsely advertise an item being made of a certain material when it isn't.
Robbing customers of their money by false advertising is very serious. It would be like advertising a sweater was made of 100% lambswool & then selling it on to the customer knowing full well it was made only of acrylic wool.
The duvet set doesn't even have a label on it & it was sent in a clear plastic bag. It was brand new so id have thought there'd have been a bit of the usual cardboard showing a pic of the duvet set with wash instructions & materials etc. I feel like I've been well conned.

When you registered as a user on eBay you accepted the warnIng in the user agreement that eBay does not guarantee the quality of items or that descriptions will be truthful or accurate. eBay doesn't even guarantee that items for sale will be safe, legal - or even exist. Would you have bought from a shop that stated this??
Hopefully you're still within the 30 day tome limit for eBay's money back guaranee. Failing this, your payment provider, e.g. credit or debit card issuer, may be able to help.
Buying from unknown sellers on eBay is not like buying from the shops. eBay is a jungle.

Mentor10 months agoI suggest you read up on how Ebay's money back guarantee protects buyers in these circumstances.
Basically you return it at the seller's expense for a full refund.

I dont even have the original bag it came in as it was that thin that the
bag ripped as i tried to open it.
