Evri had my parcel but buyer claims he never received

Question

I posted the item on 9th August and for some reason it was not scanned by a courier until 15th. Buyer has claimed non-delivery and Ebay has refunded him on the grounds that I cannot prove delivery. Is this correct? How does everyone else prove delivery? Evri was the standard postage offered to me by Ebay when I listed the item, clearly they had the parcel so why is Evri not responsible for non-delivery?

If you used simple delivery then ebsy refunds in non delivery cases. If you did your own thing then you responsible but might be able to claim from evri.
