Evidence of age .
When trying to make an offer on a hedge trimmer eBay stated it’s a bladed item and I need to show evidence that I’m over 18 years of age. I am actually 67.
They stated they need details from a credit card.
I’ve only got debit cards.
Is there an alternative way to provide evidence of age please?

Mentor2 weeks agoThere isn't. eBay use a credit card as proof that the holder is over 18 because that's how old you have to be to have one. A younger person may hold a debit hold.
Do you have a friend or relative who can buy one on your behalf?

OP2 weeks agoI not interested in what under 18s can do. All I what to do is make an offer on a hedge trimmer. This is ridiculous.

Mentor1 week agoIt is the law, on any site & shop, that you have to prove your are 18+ to buy a bladed item.
Obviously a shop can see you in person, but websites can't.
