Even the ebay community is diabolical.
Ebay makes rules as it goes. I can't sell a collectable JD Tin with a 25ml bottle inside because alcohol is against ebay policy....Yet Red wine can be bought by hundreds of bottles? Why them and not me?

Mentor6 months agoeBay doesn't 'make rules as it goes'.
UK law states that selling platforms must have something in place to verify that buyers are over 18, same as for the high street.

OP4 months agoThis only applies to businesses.. Private sellers do not need licenses to sell home goods from personal property!

Mentor4 months agoWhat private individuals get up to between themselves would be impossible to control, but selling on ebay is subject to the law, and it is up to ebay to take measures to obey the law.
If a parent with permission to sell, allowed an under age person to use their account, then as the account holder is responsible for all activity on their account, then the account holder is breaking the law, and if brought to ebay’s attention would no doubt have permission to sell alcohol cancelled and be suspended from selling.

They do permit the sale of alcohol, but only by approved sellers who must get Ebay's consent and approval before they list alcohol.
Alcoholic beverages can only be listed by eBay approved sellers.
What is the policy?

OP5 months agoYeah like the police do. They can speed and break the law. We can't. same all over two to three tier systems!

Rather than coming back to old posts with repetitive comments, maybe you should read the policy.
