end of selling process
I'm coming to the end of auctioning a vehicle. I have an acceptable bid and am preparing to sell it. what is the best method of receiving the money (several thousand pounds) and when can I safely hand over the keys and documents to the successful bidder. I don't want to be scammed and I want to be fair.

Mentor3 months agoUnlikely that payment for a Vehicle can be completed through eBay checkout ---
FYI --- When you have a definite buyer with Cash in hand or a Bank Transfer is safely deposited/confirmed, only then should you hand over Vehicle keys/documents on buyer viewing, payment and before collection --- Do not accept PayPal payment. --- stay safe.

Mentor3 months agoCash on collection is safest way.
You do NOT accept ebay payments for vehicles.

OP3 months agoI just can’t see someone gathering say £10000 in cash together and handing it over without test driving it?Would a BACS transfer make sense?I thought eBay would take receipt of the money, deduct their fees and then forward the rest to my bank account?
Any help is much appreciated.

Mentor3 months agoeBay don't collect payments for vehicles as all electronic card payments can be reversed.
Buyers pay cash on collection (or instant bank transfer straight to the seller on collection if the seller prefers).
