ebay to act police & remove obvious fraudulent items up for sale
I am referring mainly to coins for sale - there are dozens of coins on this site classed as " rare " with ridiculous asking prices - this is in my mind is a fraudulent statement - this needs an in-house look at by ebay to remove them off the site - to protect buyers been conned

Mentor6 months agoSometimes you have to imagine you are buying a used car - would you fall for a slimy salesman telling you about the rarity of that particular model, how desirable the car was and how it's on special offer etc etc etc?
Then when you discovered the car was none of those things would you go to wherever you complain about used cars and try to get them banned from selling due to their "fraudulent selling practices"?
Hopefully you'd do your own research so you wouldn't be conned, thats what most buyers do.

Mentor6 months agoDo you really believe ebay staff are qualified to pick out fakes, especially as photographs could be of genuine examples.
Only when received can a buyer, assuming they know anything about coins, take advantage of the Money Back Guarantee. That is what it is for as no one can monitor and be an expert in the millions of items listed on ebay.

OP6 months agoasking price for a item is stupid one - but these type of items should
still be removed ASAP as there are some very vulnerable people out there
who may fall for this type of con - And I state again there hundreds of
items for sale that could be removed safely by ebay & then they could ask
the seller if they wished to challenge their decision to remove it - it
called good policing & having the interests of their customers at heart.

You don't understand about eBay.
Buying from unknown sellers on eBay isn't like buying from the shops. Section 2 of the user agreement explains that eBay does NOT scrutinise listings here. Listings are entirely the responsibility of the seller. eBay even warns buyers that they do not guarantee the quality of items sold here, or that they will be truthfully described, safe or even legal.
Would you have bought this from a shop that said this? eBay is a jungle.

Mentor6 months agoIts the same with stamps and other collectables, some sellers are on cloud cuckoo land with their thoughts. I tend to ignore and move one.

Mentor6 months agoSellers can ask what they want, buyers don't have to pay it.
It is up to buyers to do their own research.

OP6 months agobuying genuine rare coins when they are not - ebay themselves should be
looking at policing and removing this type of for sale item . - I again
say - I see them as a false and & fraudulent attempt to fool the buyer &
that they need to be removed.
ps - If someone can tell me how I can let ebay know which ones i think
need looking into - please submit details of how I can proceed and do this
