Ebay Simple Delivery
I received this message today quote:
Starting 26 Dec, we’ll begin updating eligible live listings to Simple Delivery. This means you’ll get automatic tracking, pre-paid labels and QR codes. Plus, you’re fully protected if your item is lost or damaged in transit. The rollout will take place over the coming weeks.
Unquote.
I have been able to organise my own postage ie offer combined postage and free upgrade delivery from 48 hr to a 24 hr delivery. Yesterday I had a buyer state delivery was required by 13th - I posted late afternoon 11th to ensure 24 hr delivery.
I assume combined postage, offering 24 hr or 48 hr delivery will be out of my hands entirely since this is not an option with EBay?
Is it worth me taking this up with eBay and if so can you provide best method of contact. Thank you!

Mentor10 months agoI do not understand how you have been able to avoid Simple Delivery, but if you have then ebay will not allow it to continue. Sellers can only avoid SD when using certain categories and item does not exceed 100gms/£20.

Mentor10 months agoebay won't make any exceptions to Simple Delivery for private sellers. But you are selling a large quantity of new items so should register as a business seller on ebay. Then you won't have to use SD at all. You can choose your own postage.

OP10 months agoas a business trader) - I may benefit from changing to a different selling
platform with more flexibility on postage.

Mentor10 months agoIt's a simple and quick change to be registered correctly with a Business account, you keep your feedback too.
Probably best to use a PC / laptop for this, and not the app or mobile browser. Chrome seems to work best on eBay.
A Private account is one used for selling unwanted used items, such as a wardrobe / attic / garage clear out.
A Business Account is one for selling Brand New items, or items bought to sell.
