EBay ruled on buyers favour is it fair or not
Summary: jo_634128 expressed frustration after being required to refund a buyer for an undelivered item to Israel, despite issues with the Royal Mail. **peaseblossom** suggested that eBay's Global Shipping programme would handle such refunds if used, while red_magpie emphasized that eBay's policy guarantees buyer refunds for undelivered items and advised exploring postal insurance. tobiasd4 clarified that because the item wasn't shipped via eBay's Global Shipping programme, jo_634128 might need to handle the refund independently and suggested trying a claim with Royal Mail.
A buyer has requested a refund and got quite angry at me after a delivery has not been made in Isreal. I stated that the Royal Mail on their end was having issues and then I stated that it was out of my hands when it could or couldn’t get delivered. When I last messaged the buyer started getting aggressive stating that other companies didn’t have issues delivering to his address. So now I will be charged the amount they paid for them to get a refund. I don’t think this is fair as I couldn’t control that

It wasn't listed as GSP.
You have postage as RM international, so you need to sort this yourself, probably doing a refund.
You may be able to claim from RM, worth a try.

It has nothing to do with what you can or can't control. Buyers on eBay are guaranteed a full refund if their item is not delivered by the due date.
As a private seller, you will normally use eBay's simple delivery service. If so, and the buyer has opened an item not received case, eBay will be responsible for refunding them. If eBay says you have to pay, someone here may be able give advice if you give us more details.
If you used another delivery service you will be responsible for refunding them. This is why sellers use postal insurance (although you can't wait for this before refunding the buyer). Don't wait for eBay to enforce the refund; if they do, they will reclaim the money from you and you will receive an account defect for failing to do so yourself.

Mentor3 weeks agoIf you used ebay's Global Shipping programme ebay should be issuing the refund themselves. If the buyer has opened a "Not received" case and the tracking shows delivery to the UK Global shipping hub say so on the case and state that according to Global T&Cs you are not responsible for loss in transit once it has arrived at the UK hub.
