eBay requested seller to dispose ifya damaged item after refunding them?
An item I sold arrived damaged and a return request was made. eBay refunded buyer but they did not return it. After two weeks I requested a tracking number and the seller messaged to say that eBay requested they disposed of the item. This seems unlikely and I suspect foul play on the buyers part but to sure I asked eBay to step in for the second time to resolve this. The buyers message is still active on my account so I'm assuming this is evidence for eBay if there's foul play?

Mentor10 months agoIf this wasn't simple delivery and ebay refunded with your money then it is highly likely they told the buyer they didn't have to return the item.

Mentor10 months agoAssuming you used Simple Delivery ebay covers sellers for loss or damage in transit. So if an item is damaged ebay issue a refund themselves and the seller keeps the original payment. The buyer is not required to return the item so they are free to dispose of it however they wish.
