Ebay removed negative feedback instantly
Bought an item that was never dispatched. I contacted the seller several times over a 10 day period to which they never replied once. I finally give up requested a refund and left them a negative explaining that it was the worst experience I've ever had on eBay. This was immediately removed by eBay.
The seller had 10 negatives this month (bare in mind it is only the 2nd) but when I refreshed this had dropped to 7 (its only 9am) They still have 134 negative this year but it is really scary to think how many this SHOULD be if they are deleting dozens per day.
Makes you wonder why they still bother with this system when it can't be trusted and is clearly manipulated. Probably won't bother leaving any feedback anymore as clearly it is completely pointless when you can't warn future buyers of the terrible experience they are about to endure.

Mention anything about a refund, a case, or any involvement, and the seller can ask for the feedback to be removed.
It's a shame I think, and a mistake when eBay introduced the ability to use 500 characters in feedback , as there is more room for too many words, resulting in the use of some which are not allowed, and hence a candidate for removal.
In your case to leave something like .... ' I was very disappointed that the seller did not complete, and honour the transaction, and that negative feedback would have remained.

OP11 months agoThank you for the reply.
I have had rough purchases before but was never really bothered enough to leave a negative, but this was SO bad I thought i'd try help the "community" but I think you are right regarding the 500 characters, even when typing the feedback it encourages you to type more with messages saying "Keep Going! - The more you write the better"
I was careful to be factually accurate stating "I never received it" and "Had no communication" whilst also keeping it polite and professional but clearly wasn't enough - haha

Mentor11 months agoWithout knowing the exact wording of your feedback, it's impossible to tell you the ' culprit words' used ,which allowed the feedback to be removed.
As said, any mention of any eBay involvement, and seller can ask for it to be removed.
