Ebay randomly increasing my listing price without explaining why
Summary: milleniumaire expressed frustration over eBay unexpectedly increasing their listing price to £75.72, while they initially set it at £60, with a buyer seeing £63.10. They suspect VAT might be added unintentionally and noted difficulties using eBay's app to provide screenshots. *vyolla* sees VAT being applied and inquires if milleniumaire is using the UK site or is based in Ireland. tobiasd4 suggests that a buyer protection fee might have been added, but milleniumaire questions the discrepancy in charges. milleniumaire confirms their UK account setup and lack of VAT mention during the listing process.
I've just created a new ebay listing which has the Item price set to £60.00. Alongside this the box "Buyer will pay" shows £63.10. I have the Minimum offer set to £50.00.
When the listing is created and I view it, the listing price is shown as £75.72.
Where has this price come from? I'm a private seller and these are second hand goods so I really hope ebay isn't adding VAT on.
I've tried changing the price but the listing price is always much higher. This is utterly confusing and unless I understand where this imaginary price is coming from I will not be selling on ebay.
There is NO mention of any other values being added to my item price when I create the listing. Surely, ebay should be making it very clear why they are changing the amount I have specified?
Anyone any idea what ebay are up to?

Mentor1 month agoIt will be buyer protection fee, ebay automatically add it on to your start price.
Ebay don't allow cash on collection.
Buyer has to pay through ebay before you can give address.

OP1 month agoBut isn't the Buyer Protection fee £3.10? I put the item price as £60, eBay and eBay shows a buyer will pay amount of £63.10.

OP1 month agoSo, when you view the listing you see £63.10, but when I view it I see £75.72. That doesn't make sense.

OP1 month ago · EditedTried to view the revised listing screen on my mobile so I could screen dump it, but that continuously crashes on my mobile. Does anyone actually test these apps?

Mentor1 month ago@milleniumaire There's VAT being added to it, are you looking at that on the UK site, or are you in Ireland? There's a Euro price underneath the £72.60.
