eBay Premium Service Badge – Qualify but Still Not Receiving It
Summary: petsupps-retail, an eBay Top Rated Seller, is struggling to receive the eBay Premium Service badge despite meeting the criteria. They have contacted eBay support but have not resolved the issue. tommystrezures suggests modifying postage policies, specifically switching from 2nd class to 1st class and using special delivery for express service. petsupps-retail acknowledges the suggestion but mentions the challenge of tight profit margins. They also inquire about an unexpected offer reduction mechanism, seeking further assistance from tommystrezures.
I’ve been an eBay Top Rated Seller for several years and, as far as I can establish, my listings meet all of the current requirements for eBay Premium Service.
I have checked the eligibility criteria carefully, including the delivery, express delivery, tracking and returns requirements, and I believe everything is set up correctly.
The problem is that my qualifying listings are still not displaying the eBay Premium Service badge and I don't appear to be receiving the associated benefits.
I’ve contacted eBay support several times trying to get this resolved. On two separate occasions I was told by eBay representatives that I do qualify for Premium Service and that the issue would be looked into/rectified.
The last time I was told this was around two weeks ago, but unfortunately nothing appears to have changed.
I seem to be going around in circles trying to find the right department or someone at eBay who can actually investigate why the Premium Service status isn't being applied.
Has anyone else experienced this?
If so, how did you eventually get it resolved? Is there a particular eBay department, support route or escalation process I should be asking for?
I'd particularly appreciate hearing from anyone who was already Top Rated and had listings that met all the Premium Service requirements, but the badge and fee benefits weren't being applied automatically.
Any advice on what I should ask eBay to check on the account would be greatly appreciated.
Thanks in advance.
Andy

Mentor1 month agoI think your postage policies are the issue here. I had a look at one of your pet supplements, you are offering 2nd class postage. That I think needs to be 1st class, as 2nd class does not gaunrantee delivery within 3 days. Additionally when it says express service special delivery is the one as it is gauranteed next day.
So as an experiment I would take one of these items change 2nd class postage to 1st class postage (you may need to lose Evri too) and then instead of tracked 24 put special delivery.
This is what we are doing on our listings to get the 'badge' Your other settings eg 30 day return etc are ok.
On items over £20 you must provide tracking too.

OP1 month agoHi, thanks for your reply.
Regarding items over £20, I don’t currently have any individual items listed above that price. Unfortunately, I’m unable to offer free 1st Class delivery due to the cost involved, as profit margins are already very tight in my sector.
If what you’ve said is correct, it sounds as though this may be the issue preventing me from qualifying. Thank you for your input, though, I really appreciate it. Unfortunatly I can't really see a way round it...

Mentor1 month agoI would as I suggested set up a listing (you would obviously have to push it live for 10 minutes to see if it worked but then pull it off, or take one of your supplements (that are live) alter the postage as I mentioned to see if that resolves it. I know margins can be tight but I have had an offer for a reduction from you already after looking at your listing to see if I could see the problem. The offer you sent would almost cover the difference between 1st and 2nd!
