Ebay listing shows customs will be paid on Made in USA items shipping to USA
I just did a search for "made in USA" items located in the UK. Such an item should be tariff free since the item was manufactured in the USA. However, EBay has added the following text on the listing page between Postage and Delivery:
"Due to US policies, import fees for this item will need to be paid to customs or the postal courier on delivery."
I can understand why that is showing on most items, but there is also a great number of sellers in the UK who have Made in USA items that are simply easier to sell to americans. This is going to mislead those USA buyers, it's practically a warning to them. If a seller describes an item as "Made in USA" and it is actually made in China, that's one thing, but truly and very obviously Made in USA items are supposed to be exempt.
Many USA made tools, collectibles, antique spare parts for discontinued US automobile models etc are located outside the USA, and of almost ZERO interest to non-USA buyers.

Mentor11 months agoIt makes no difference where items are made.
You are in Sweden, so any buyer from another country buying your items, will pay import fees.

OP11 months agoThe entire US tariff system is based on the country of manufacture, and they did not collect import tariffs on items valued at less that 800 usd prior to 29 august. Sorry if this sounds rude, but both statements are wrong.

Even his own politicians don't agree with what he's done.
