Ebay is claiming an item i am selling is counterfit
Ebay has decided to claim an item i am selling is countrfit. The item in question is a Windows 11 USB. It is an official product i purchased from Ebay a week before deciding to sell it again.
I provided evidence to Ebay that i purchased the item from Ebay to begin with. I have it in my purchase history, i even provided them with images proving the HowToTell Windows authenticity lable matches that on the sellers listing. I decided to sell the item becuse it was not compatible with my PC, i made a mistake and did not do my research. I decided to sell the item on for slightly cheaper and Ebay immediatly took down my item and claimed it was counterfit?
The seller i purchased the item from is still selling the same item, the item was opened but never used, i thought this might be the issue but there are other people on Ebay selling opened versions of the same product? I have been singled out and punished for a reason i can't understand? Ebay gave no reasons for why they thought my item was counterfit in the email informing me of my listing being taken down or the response email to my appeal, they provided no explanation of the issues or reasons on why they made the decision to deny my appeal.
It makes me quite upset that i was not offered the chance to talk to someone about the nuance of the issue. I called customer service and they offered nothing, only that i needed to wait for a responce by email. I have a 100% positive account that i have had for over a decade with no issues, why on earth would i try to ruin that for £25? The automated email told me an AI flagged my listing which i guess explains a lot about this situation.
Not sure if anyone has had this issue selling operating systems or PC parts in general? If if you have, how did you get it resolved with Ebay?

Mentor5 months agoThe one thing which is really unfair is the way that message for Policy Violation and counterfeit item, is written. I've said for years, it should be re worded, to show the correct issue.
It's not that your item is counterfeit as the message implies, it's because it's a Vero protected item . This means because there are many counterfeit items for this Brand, the Brand does not want their items sold online, so it's the Brand owner, not eBay who ask for its removal.
You may well still see identical items listed, this is because the site is vast, with 7 billion listings on at any on time, impossible to check each and every one, so some invariably slip the net, and become listed. When they are spotted and reported like yours was, they too will be removed.
