Ebay generates wrong size parcel for Inpost

Hi there. I've just sold my first item and I'm having problems.
Before I create my shipping label through Ebay I have checked that its marked as a medium size parcel in the 2-5kg weight bracket, Ebay then generates the Inpost shipping label. In the Inpost app it says the parcel is a small item (8x36x64cm) this is the wrong size. I've tried 3 times making sure everything is correct but I get the same result. Has anyone else come across this? What do I do to fix this? I can't do it directly through Inpost as I don't have a telephone number or email for the recipient and I can't do it through Ebay. Please help!

Mentor3 weeks agoYou can sometimes change size or weight of a label but you may have to do it on a PC rather then the app. Click on Get Prepaid Label and under the heading Package details click on the pencil icon and you should get: "No extra charge. Changing your package size won’t cost you anything." Then use the dropdown menu to change dimension or weight.
The alternative would be to cancel/refund the transaction with the buyer's agreement (via the dropdown menu arrow for the item on your orders list) and relist with correct postage for the buyer to buy and pay again. It might help to opt out of Inpost in your postage preferences. Go to My eBay > Account tab > Selling > Postage preferences.

OP3 weeks agoHi thanks for your reply. I've tried to do this on the app and my PC, I can't see an option for get prepaid label only get postage label, I have ensured all the details are correct but it still generates a small package on Inpost.
I'll contact the seller in the morning and check he's happy for me to send it privately through DPD instead and swallow any additional costs.
I refuse to believe I'm the only person who has had this problem, surely anyone who generates a label for a medium parcel using the Ebay system would get the same output? A company as big as Ebay should be on top of issues such as this. What a terrible first experience!

Mentor2 weeks agoBe aware, if you send it and pay for the postage yourself and not with a Simple Delivery label, you will have no proof of posting, your tracking cannot be added, but in the event of a case being opened later it can be added to a case.
Your payout too, may be held for a minimum of 14 days.
Best as advised, to cancel the order with the buyer's agreement, citing Buyer Requests to cancel, this fully refunds the buyer, your seller performance is not affected. Then, relist with the correct postage price for the buyer to buy and pay again.

OP2 weeks agoHi, thanks for the reply. I think you're missing the point. It is the correct postage price, I haven't made a mistake. Ebay is making the mistake. Ebay has the correct size and weight for the parcel but asks for the wrong size parcel lable from Inpost. If this is how it is, then Inpost is unusable for an Ebay medium size parcel, I can't believe such a simple and obvious mistake hasn't been corrected.
