eBay Executive team extorting me for my Biometric data and stealing from me
i have been a customer - both buyer and seller on eBay for 23 years.
Since 19th April eBay’s Executive Escalations Team have consistently extorted me for my biometric data to access my account which has always been in exceptional standing. I have never not been able to access my account nor have I missed payments etc.
Extortion is illegal and specifically extortion of personal data under UK GDPR laws. I have a right to access my account to delete it. They have my email address, my home address and my mobile number. The mobile number is an old number which I have changed too many times to count and their system has not recognised the update, deliberately, in my view, to use it is an excuse to extort me for my biometric data.
I have provided my drivers licence which was acceptable but ever since then, the OOTPUK@ebay executive team have not responded to me.
I have requested my data be deleted from their system which is my legal right because I do not wish to have anything to do with a company involved in Biometric data.
On the day that I requested my data be deleted, I made a sale, but because I am blocked out of my account, I could not access to cancel the order. I immediately contacted eBAy Executive team again, to tell them to cancel the order. I told them over a number of days to cancel the order. They did not respond and now I have a charge of £90 which they're threatening to send to the baillifs which will *bleep* up my credit rating and force me to pay for something I do not owe. In addition, it means that because my items are still listed for sale, they will do this periodically and send people to buy items on my account, racking up more debt.
How do I get in touch with the legal department of this fraudulent eBay outfit? How do I contact the CEO directly and get legal representation to fight eBay and get them stopped because if they are doing this to me, guaranteed they're doing it to other British citizens to destroy our lives.
Thank you

Mentor11 months agoAre you sure that you haven't received a phishing email?
eBay’s Executive Escalations Team deal with escalated eBay cases, they don't require your biometric data in order to do this.
It does sound like you're in a bit of a pickle and may need to take legal advice.
What's the £90 for? If the buyer paid but you didn't send the item out then they'd get their payment refunded.
You have no items listed for sale. Your feedback profile is set to private, and sellers cannot list any items whilst their profile isn't public.

OP10 months agoI'm quite sure it is not a phishing email, it is direct from the Ebay Executive Team as I have clearly stated.
I clearly stated I have two accounts. I cannot access the seller account, which means I cannot even ask questions using that account because eBay refuses to give me access - hence the problem I'm facing.
eBay are acting unlawfully demanding and extorting me for my biometric data which is illegal under UK law. They are refusing to respond to my requests for account access and it is coming up to 6 months and are racking up debt on my account which is illegal because they are obstructing my access therefore I cannot post any items to buyers.
If that all is still unclear, please refrain from responding as well meaning as I'm sure you are, I do actually want someone to help with this and lengthy trails tend to put people off.
Thank you.

·10 months agoWhat 'biometric data' are Ebay asking for?
They do sometimes, as stated in the User Agreement, ask members to confirm their identity, for example by supplying photo ID but I have never heard of Ebay asking for (very specifically) biometric data and denying access to an account when it is not supplied.

If you want to take legal action against Ebay, then you should take legal advice. This is a member to member forum.
