eBay closing case early despite emails to the contrary.

Hi.

I recently had to ask eBay to step in after a seller misrepresented an item and refused to accept a return. eBay found in my favour and informed me that I had to try the item by 14th August in order to obtain the refund. The item was sent out by me on the 8th of August. Today which is the 11th of August I have received an email informing me that the case is closed as I have not returned the item in time and no refund will be issued! I have the email telling me I have until the 14th yet they have apparently closed the case today (11th) despite the item being sent out by me using the supplied return label. Can anyone advise as eBay keeps telling me me there is no agent available & I am currently £90 out of pocket and the item is headed back to the seller!

If eBay closed that return case there should be an option to Appeal it, I'd try that first and then come back here and let us know the outcome:

When you returned the item using Ebay's label the case should have updated to dispatched. If it didn't, that was the time to contact ebay. It's probably too late now the case is closed.

Tracking has to show at least attempted delivery for ebay to force a refund.
