Ebay charged 24% vat instead of 6% vat (Greek import vat for antiques)

Question

Hi, i recently purchased an antique item from the USA, item over 100 years old and had it shipped to Greece. I should have paid 6% VAT, (Greek Rules) but seem to have been charged 24% VAT.

How do i get a refund from ebay.

You'd have to apply to get any overpaid import VAT from the Greek tax authority, eBay collect it and pass it on to them.

You have been charged the Standard VAT Import rate to Greece @24% --- cannot see antiques showing in the 6% VAT items --- (Google Greece VAT rates).
