Ebay changes delivery options on relisting.
Summary: 63rdgeezer shared an issue with eBay where their item, initially set for collection-only due to its weight, was automatically relisted with a "simple delivery" option. This led to issues as the item exceeded the weight limit for Royal Mail, requiring UPS delivery, and delayed payment. tressygirl explained that eBay requires simple delivery for quick payouts unless the item is too heavy, in which case a 14-day wait is imposed to avoid refund claims. 63rdgeezer expressed frustration with this automatic setting change leading to potential delivery problems.
Hi all.
I listed an item for sale as it was heavy so I made the option collection only. It didn't sell and was automatically relisted. Unknown to me, ebay changed the delivery option to simple delivery. Somebody bought it with "Buy it now". I went in to look and was suprised by the simple delivery option. It turns out, the only option was Royal Mail and then had a weight limit of 20Kg. My package was nearer 40Kg. I got it delivered by UPS and I'm still waiting for payment.
I complained to ebay and there's nothing they can do. I have to wait 14 days to get paid!
They didn't quite get my issue and said I had set the simple delivery. I had not.
Anyway, I had another item today that was relisted and yes, I confirmed the simple deliver option gets automatically added. This is poor behaviour and will surely lead to others getting stresses and causing issues with deliveries.
Anybody else have this problem?

Mentor3 weeks agoYou are responsible for your listings, even if ebay automatically adds something. It's very good practise to use drafts and also to check listings the minute they go live in order to check everything is as you want it.
Switch off auto relists.

Mentor3 weeks agoAll Private sellers have to use Simple Delivery now for items which qualify that is, not too lightweight not too heavy , to receive quick payouts.
You can use your own postage, or when items like yours are too heavy for SD, then payouts are automatically held for 14 days, because no tracking can be added to those items, and eBay wish a period to lapse to show no case for a refund will be opened.
