Ebay being overzealous
Summary: 2004derry shared an email from Ebay stating that their funds will be released after delivery confirmation due to unusual selling activity. Despite having a 100% rating, 2004derry feels that Ebay's measures are excessive, especially since they haven't sold anything recently.
I received this email from Ebay today.
Your funds will be available for payout once we receive delivery confirmation
Hi Derry,
We've detected unusual selling activity on your account. To maintain marketplace safety, funds earned from your sales will be available for payout within 2 days after delivery confirmation of the item. After we've seen ongoing confirmation of successful deliveries, you'll start receiving your funds 2 days after the buyer pays. This applies to both new transactions and previously undistributed funds tied to undelivered orders.
I haven't sold anything on Ebay for a while, being careful is one thing but over the top is another especially when I have 100% rating.

MentorJul 18, 2026 at 12:51 PMWhen there's sudden selling activity on a dormant account it raises red flags to eBay, as it could be sign that the account is being hijacked.
eBay wish then, to see the lates sold items having tracking to show a safe delivery, this process to them that the genuone owner of the account has returned to sell.
It's a good security measure for your account, and your buyers.
