Hi All
If an article is listed as "Echo Dot 5th Generation Outdoor Wireless Bluetooth Mini speaker" what would you expect to get? A quick check and 'Echo Dot' is a trade mark of Amazon and so in violation of their rights.
I reported an item with this in it's description as I nearly bought it, thinking it was an Amazon 'Echo Dot' but reading the full description, see that is't just a Bluetooth speaker... a tad misleading I'd say.
eBay say it does not violate their terms so it would appear that is OK just title anything you want to make it look like something else and get away with it - nice!
What's your thoughts?

OP4 months agoYes, I agree. It would seem that eBay just aren't interested in obvious deception and fraud (not to mention blatant copyright protection). Not a platform I would trust anymore 😞

Mentor4 months agoI have come to conclusion that reporting anything to ebay is a waste of time.
A member on here had their listing for an ebike removed as he was a private seller.
There are loads of private sellers so reported one, an agent said it did not break any rules, appealed and same response, again an agent. Either ebay do not care or agents do not know the rules or cannot read as it must be annoying for a seller to be picked on and others get away with it.

Mentor4 months agoIt would be up to Amazon to ask for removal that is what VERO is for.

·4 months agoSometimes very obvious items slip through the net.
All items can be reported using the small question mark in a circle at the bottom right of the listing.
Then, the item is more likely to be removed if you use the correct path. It is not a simple process.

OP4 months agoI did follow the path and it was rejected. I appealed and it was also rejected. It does seem that you can make anything 'look like' another product and eBay are just not interested 😞
