eBay apparently don't know of new Nectar (UK) brand collaboration. (!?)
Summary: dannybee69 expressed frustration about not receiving Nectar points for a large purchase made two months ago via eBay, despite contacting both Nectar and eBay multiple times. *vyolla* suggested using the Nectar app for purchases, which dannybee69 confirmed was already their process. tobiasd4 shared a positive experience with acquiring points seamlessly, highlighting the contrast in experiences. Another participant, tommystrezures, expressed a similar issue, suggesting it might not be an isolated case. The discussion revolves around the inconsistency and lack of coordination between eBay and Nectar regarding the points award system.
Can I please ask if anyone else in the UK has had a sizeable purchase just sit there for months without authorising the associated Nectar points?
I have contacted Nectar three times (in the two months (!) since I bought the item), who say they are constantly 'prodding' eBay to resolve this by actually authorising the points.
I today, decided to contacted eBay who (the agent assured me) had never heard of this new arrangement with Nectar. ?????
He put me on hold and spoke to some 'experts' who told him to get me to look at the Nectar points help page where it tells you that Nectar points are no longer awarded on eBay purchases:
https://www.ebay.co.uk/help/sr?query=Nectar+points&origin=1&aiSummary=true
Whereas in fact they clearly still are:
https://www.nectar.com/brands/588765
These 'experts' are clearly ignorant of the facts here. Which does not inspire confidence in any of it TBH!
So, all in all it is a bit of a 'dogs do-do' show.
eBay has to contact nectar to authorise points, but somehow don't know it is happening and Nectar seemingly can't directly talk to eBay to sort anomalies like this out.
Crazy!
All my many other purchases have had points awarded with no issues. So it is extremely frustrating and perplexing.
So if anyone else has a solution or similar experience, please pipe up so maybe, just maybe, they can get all joined up and stuff about these types of arrangements and put proper support mechanisms in place for the future.

Mentor1 month agoI have bought some items in last few months.
I logged into ebay via Nectar to pay.
It acknowledged points and they were received within 7 days.

OP1 month agoYes, well this one didn't.
And after contacting Nectar many times (made worse by the fact it should be automatic) who assure me they have prodded eBay a LOT and eBay today (eBay are worse in this regard, denying the existence of such a collaboration) they don't appear to be able to find their rear ends with both hands.
It is so frustrating having these points just sat there, in limbo, that I have earned and are legitimately mine.

OP1 month agoWhat happened to you? Did it get resolved?

Mentor1 month agoWhat process did you use to buy the item?
You can no longer earn Nectar points by shopping directly through the eBay website/app. Instead:
Open the Nectar app .
Search for eBay.
Tap Shop now to go through to eBay.
Complete your eBay purchase in the same shopping session.
The purchase should then track back to Nectar and award the points shown for eBay at the time.

OP1 month agoYes, that is how I always do it.
I have many many many points come through perfectly fine, but as I said, I have an issue with a high value purchase that still hasn't yielded my points two months on. I had the 'pending' email as normal, but it is just stuck there.
