e-bay AI removing genuine items under 'Counterfeit' policy!
Summary: emeraz11 expresses frustration with eBay's AI system, which incorrectly identifies genuine items as counterfeit. They mention that even with brand confirmation, appeals do not resolve the issue due to the automated nature of the decision-making process. emeraz11 highlights the problem of account restrictions resulting from these 'false flags' and the lack of human intervention, noting challenges in communicating with customer service to address these issues.
Is anyone else experiencing the problems with e-bay's AI removing genuine items as 'Counterfeit' ? Even on appeal, with communication from the brand confirming the item is genuine there does not appear to be a human being capable of properly assessing the case.......from what I can gather, the AI is simply flagging certain words used in the listings and then making a determination on that basis and not on facts. Even in phone call discussion with customer service they seem unable to override what is essentially a 'robot's' decision.
The problem comes in when restrictions are then placed on accounts because of 'false flags' so to speak. I never know what word is going to trigger them next.
Anyone else getting frustrated with what ebay is becoming - especially for private sellers?
