DROPSELLERS breaching ebay rules are everywhere and ebay don't care
Summary: trick_psychlist expresses frustration with eBay's lack of action against Amazon dropsellers who breach eBay's rules. They note that despite reporting multiple instances, no action has been taken and such sellers continue to operate. Additionally, trick_psychlist is concerned about eBay sharing personal data with these sellers without explicit consent and criticizes eBay's reporting system as ineffective. They seek advice on what buyers can do both within and outside of eBay to address these issues.
Why is ebay doing nothing about the huge numbers of Amazon dropsellers.
They directly breach ebay rules. Many have hundreds of feedbacks detailing this. Simple enough to monitor this and ban the sellers.
Ebay appears not to care. I have reported multiple incidences and NOTHING has happened. Sellers still merrily dropselling.
Ebay have my data and share it with sellers by implied consent to get items delivered. At no point have I given consent for my data to be shared with third parties, yet ebay takes absolutely no action to safeguard my personal details. Ebay cannot be trusted with data if they don't take this seriously despite repeated reports.
What can buyers do about this within ebay? Apart from the deliberately awkward reporting system where reports seem to get filed in the bin. Or the gate-keeping AI which just infuriates.
What can be done outside ebay?
It is unacceptable and ebay are an active part of the problem but taking no action or responsibility.
