Drastic drop in listing views and purchases! Algorithm change? What is going on?
Hi,
Is there anyone here among sellers running priority campaigns who has seen a drastic drop in sales across their entire shop?
There’s a metric called Views which you can see when logged into your account and visiting your listings. This is also visible in the main Listings tab: https://www.ebay.co.uk/sh/lst/active , under the column titled Views (30 days). The drop is DRASTIC.
At the end of each day, we log the current Views number into our spreadsheet. The graphs are shocking. This has had a huge impact on our sales, and our sales pattern has completely changed. Where we previously had over £200 in sales before 1pm every day, we now see almost nothing until that time.
Below are the daily view counts for one of our best-performing listings. But this issue affects all our listings, not just this one.
23/10/2025 - 61030
24/10/2025 - 60937
25/10/2025 - 60817
26/10/2025 - 60698
27/10/2025 - 61169
28/10/2025 - 60911
29/10/2025 - 61333
30/10/2025 - 61470
31/10/2025 - 59246
01/11/2025 - 60469
02/11/2025 - 60890
03/11/2025 - 61104
04/11/2025 - 59644
05/11/2025 - 55385
06/11/2025 - 41623
07/11/2025 - 39510
08/11/2025 - 37877
09/11/2025 - 36097
10/11/2025 - 35013
11/11/2025 - 33779
12/11/2025 - 25072
This metric doesn’t match any traffic or sales reports, which is very strange. But only this metric actually reflects the sales drop and traffic we’re seeing on our listings. All other metrics seem unaware of the situation or are possibly manipulated to avoid alarming users. Sounds like a conspiracy theory, but the campaigns are still running and draining money as usual. So, is eBay trying to squeeze more money out of sellers before Christmas?
We’re a small seller, and that’s why we monitor everything closely. But any serious shop with consistent sales should have noticed these changes too.
I don’t know what direction eBay is heading in, but as a small business, I’ve already decided to build my own online store to move sales away from eBay and rely on Google Ads and a proper ecommerce platform. What eBay is doing to sellers is unacceptable.
It’s the most unstable platform I’ve ever sold on.
We also sell on Amazon, and their ad system is consistently reliable. If you don’t touch your campaigns, they keep performing. Here on eBay, it’s a lottery - even though we spend thousands per month on ads.
Of course, I understand seasonal changes. But anyone looking at the numbers above would agree this is not how seasonal shifts happen. They don’t hit overnight.
And for those not running their own tracking, they often don’t have a point of reference. All they notice is a sudden drop in sales or a complete shift in pattern.
This is my private account, so it’s not related to the shop in question, but I’d be happy to hear how others are seeing their sales behave.
If anyone could explain this to me, I’d be really grateful. And if you could possibly tag some eBay customer service members, I’d be even more thankful.
At the moment, there’s literally no technical help. All we ever hear is, “We have raised this for you and will get back to you as soon as we have any info from our technical team” - and of course, no one ever gets back to us.
Thanks.
Kind Regards

OP10 months agoLast update 7:40 | 13/11/2025. Views dropped to 6,775 and sales dropped about four times.

OP10 months agoAnother thing clearly showing this drastic drop is the number of impressions across all our campaigns. I's almost 50% so I can't believe no one talks about it here. Is this community dead?

OP10 months agoThis is the Views graph clearly showing the drop, and I don’t believe for a second that this is due to seasonal changes or any changes to the listing or bids as there was none. This clearly points to something in the algorithm. I hope I’m wrong, and I really hope this is only temporary but would be nice to hear from anyone else or eBay community team.
