Does ebay have customer service team or is it manned entirely by Useless ai bots?
My listings keep getting removed because they apparently “don’t follow out product safety policy”.
I’ve read the policy in detail and my listing abides with all 2 of the points that they have for that specific product. There are also several other listings for exactly the same product already on eBay. How do you get in touch with a human customer service agent that can actually read? Or am I better off just using Facebook Marketplace?

Mentor4 months agoI checked a couple of listings.
1 was a business, other non UK seller.
So I think likely that private UK sellers are allowed to list them.
If they get removed, do not relist.

Mentor5 months agoYou do not give any examples of the problem. What you sell to me appears very much specialist items, and I have no idea what they are and I doubt that speaking to anyone at ebay would help much.
More likely they would require you to register correctly as a business seller, so that your buyers received the proper service and back up which a Business Seller should provide.

Ebay's vague Ai automated response as to why my listing was removed is: "your listing does not follow ourt Product Safety Policy".
Ebay's Product Safety Policy regarding smoke and fire detectors is: “Smoke or carbon monoxide detectors must be from one of the approved brands. Unbranded and unsafe brands of smoke or carbon monoxide detectors are not allowed.”
Consilium is a world leader in high quality fire, smoke and gas detection systems, all it's products are CE approved. In terms of quality, safety approvals and certification it is not comparable to the cheap £10-£20 rubbish that Ebay happily endorses.
The Ai listing moderation is useless. Trying to get a reply from a human customer service agent that has the intelligence to determine that there is nothing wrong with the listing is impossible. This is why ebay has lost such a huge market share to the likes of Facebook Marketplace... their customer service is appalling. Always has been.
I have no expectations of finding a solution using this community... this is more to provide information and feedback about how inadequate ebay is in terms of customer service and how ineffective their Ai implementation is.
