Does ebay block bad reviews?
I had a poor experience with a seller (retail, not individual). In short ‘bought’ a phone tracking was issued - shows the phone was never despatched. No comms from seller. Left negative feedback.
My feedback was removed by eBay under their threats and offensive language policy. Given my feedback contained neither I appealed and asked what element had caused the issue. Everything was factual, all comms via eBay so easily checked, absolutely without abusive or threatening language.
Appeal was denied - without further explanation.
wondering if anyone else came across similar if posting a poor review?

Mentor5 months agoI believe it's the word 'scam'.
Implying that a seller is a scammer would be grounds for removal.

Mentor5 months agoYou've mentioned ebay, and refund. I believe those two things could get your feedback removed.

Mentor5 months agoPeople have had feedback removed for things like mentioning ebay or refund, opening a case.
Very occasionally it can be that 2 words have run into one another forming a prohibited word, and of course what you have mentioned yourself.
Without seeing what you wrote it is impossible to say what has upset them.

Bought phone from seller. Tracking number issued but never passed to delivery company for delivery. No meaningful comms. Phone still being advertised but at a higher price
Refunded after raising with eBay.
Feels like a scam - but I don’t understand how they benefit.
Waste of time. Avoid”
According to eBay this constitutes “Threatening” and/or “offensive language”. I don’t see it myself.
Any ideas???

Mentor5 months agoIt would have helped to know exactly what you wrote even if you *** out any words you think may have been given to be offensive.
However, eBay messages are not always as clear as they should be, and there are feedback rules to follow, otherwise a seller can ask for its removal.
If you mention anything about refunds, a case, or any eBay involvement, this breaks those rules, and the feedback, can be removed.
