Do I have to generate a refund request due to the seller informing some of my order is out of stock
I placed a multi goods order with a seller. Seller messages me a few days later to tell me that 2 of the items I ordered were out of stock. I could either have a substitute to fulfil the order or have a refund. I informed the seller I would like a refund.
Days go by, no refund for the out of stock items. I have now received the remains of my order but still no refund for the out of stock items so I messaged the seller to ask if there was a problem in refunding me. The seller has got back to me and stated that I have to generate a request for refund. I have never been told to do this before when a seller couldn't fulfil an order I made with them.
Is this new, do I have to generate a request for a refund ?

Mentor5 months agoSeller is avoiding cancelling as out of stock to avoid two defects.
If he will not cancel, then you have to resort to opening Two Not received cases, to get a refund.
As he has not posted, he will avoid defects for out of stock, but could still get Late Dispatch defects.
