Disputing a return request
Hi, just looking for some guidance if possible. eBay's documentation is confusing and did not help.
I sold a CD-ROM computer game recently. The disc is an excellent condition (no scratches). The buyer is by his own admission a 'picky collector' and has requested a refund because he says the disc has scratches 'all over it'. It DOES NOT. It is a used disc from 1997 and has ultra minor marks (barely detectable). I showed several people the disc before I sent it and they were in agreement that the CD was in excellent condition.
My listing showed an image of the reverse shiny part of the disc and I sent extra photos to him before he purchased, but he is not happy and wants a return. Is there no option for me to dispute this?
To add to this, he seems to think I accepted a return in my conversation with him in private messages. I didn't - I said he is welcome to open a case (I didn't mention a refund). He has generated a refund request just now.
He has 5,000+ feedback with 100% rating. I have 64 with 100% rating!
Many thanks for any help you can provide.

Mentor5 months agoIf buyer opened item not as described case, ebay will believe them.
Issue returns label through case & refund in full on return.
If you ignore or refuse case, ebay can force refund & buyer keeps item.
If you think it's not worth paying returning postage, refund through case & buyer keeps item.
