Dispute re LP condition with Seller from US
I bought 5 LP's from the US which were described as in very good condition
Upon receipt only one item was acceptable the others did not meet this condition and were unplayable
I offered the seller sound recordings to demonstrate the appalling condition of the LP's but he refused
so I sent him detail photos of sample areas of the LP's to show the serious scratches but he maintained that this did meet the standard as described
the definition of very good for an LP includes a clause which states that the surface noise must not intrude on the quality of the music but it does and because he has refused sound clips he cannot accurately assess that
I am happy to return the items for a full refund but I'm not happy to pay postage costs which are almost as much as the item costs

Mentor6 months agoThat is the trouble when bought outside the UK.
Suggest you open a Not as described case, seller is most unlikely or unable to supply a return label, so you could then escalate to ebay. What they will do I do not know, they may be able to supply a label or just refund.
It is not impossible that seller will see the problem and just refund rather than get a defect from ebay and have them refund at his expense.

https://www.ebay.co.uk/help/buying/returns-refunds/return-item-refund?id=4041
select "Item doesn't match description". If necessary escalate it to eBay after 3 complete working days.
In theory sellers pays return postage but in practice it's not always something ebay can enforce with overseas sellers.
