Dishonest wording in the advertising

Hi all! Trying to buy genuine silk pillowcases and there seem to be so many misleadingly advertised goods! Most of the adverts have “100% natural mulberry silk” in the heading, then it turns out to be satin or polyester when you receive it. Now I can see that some sellers hide this info further down in the description or in the generic data, but still advertise like 100% silk. This is extremely dishonest and I don’t understand why eBay hasn’t been more vigilant to weed them out and request to advertise the real material in the heading.
By not doing anything about it eBay is helping the cheats.
Be vigilant and check the real material of the items you buy!

Mentor4 days agoEbay relies on buyers being protected by the money back guarantee. They cannot check every listing for anomalies.

OP4 days agoWell I am not talking about one or two dodger sellers or dodgy listings. It’s a whole industry here of openly selling “silk” items which are polyester…

If you read section 2 of the user agreement you will see that eBay does not (with some exceptions) scrutinise sellers' listings. Listings are the entirely responsiblility of the seller.
eBay goes on to warn buyers that they do not guarantee the truthfulness of descriptions, the quality of items or that they will be safe - or even legal.
Would you buy from a shop that stated this? It's important to understand that buying from unknown sellers on eBay is NOT like buying from the shops. eBay is a jungle.
