Did eBay fire all their programmers and replace them with AI?
I've been on eBay since 1996 but only over the last few months I am repeatedly running into technical issues. I reported a couple of them but got no response. I think I will have to leave for other sites. This is becoming painful.

OP5 months agoI work in tech too. If Marco can’t feed back the request for a new feature to generate an annual donation report, he sure as hell won’t be able to debug why a bunch of receipts were not sent out two months ago. Or to get anyone else to debug it.

OP5 months agoThere were many that I didn’t receive receipts for. There were several changes to how the donation are collected and invoiced over the last few months, and stuff was lost in the process.
I can get a csv with all donations (last year I could, hopefully that’s still working). But I can’t get a proper donation receipt. If you could just implement some kind of report tallying all the donations for a tax year it would solve the problem.

Mentor5 months ago@marco@ebay doesn't work for accounts and would be unable to generate any reports for you, please supply him with '1 or 2 item numbers for the ones you didn't receive a receipt,' so that he may look in to the issue for you

OP5 months agoI reported a couple of technical problems with selling for charity. I also reported an item that was stuck in my ‘need to post’ list long after I marked it as dispatched. Nobody got back to me. Eventually I deleted that order from my list of orders so now I have no record of it (not ideal).
I have a problem getting receipts for my charity sales. I used to get receipts by email. Now I get some of them but not all. Hopefully HMRC won’t ask for them. EBay reports my sales to HMRC but doesn’t report that they are 100% to charity. So more paperwork for me but I can’t even get the papers.
This thing they did with shipping recently messed up my orders. One buyer cancelled his order because we couldn’t get the correct invoice over to him. Someone who has bought in the past and probably won’t come back.

So the issue is that you are receiving the receipt for some of your charity sales, but you are not receiving some them? If so, could you please confirm 1 or 2 item numbers for the ones you didn't receive a receipt, so I can take a look for you?

OP5 months agoI experienced no technical glitches on eBay between 1996 and 2025. But several since then.

In answer to your question though I am sure eBay haven’t fired all their programmers however with a site of the size that eBay is there will be technical glitches that pop up. The same with any other platform I would imagine.
