Defective product
I just received a message from eBay informing me that Item details: 375565763516 - 5/7L Electric Dough Mixer Home Auto Kneading Dough Maker with Ferment Function has been reported by UK Trading Standards for not being compliant with the Electrical Equipment (Safety) Regulations 2016 .
I tried to contact the seller as advised which averred futile since the statute of limitations had passed. Attempting to contact eBay wasn't very successful either and I suppose I am £68 out of pocket...

Mentor11 months agoeBay will only refund you if your last estimated date for delivery for this item has not passed the 30 day timeline.
Has it? If not, come back here we'll explain how to open a case.
Otherwise, you can try your payment provider for help with a refund if you are within 120 days of purchase.

OP11 months agoHello,
Many thanks for your reply.
It is my opinion that the 30 day status of limitations should be waved since the email informing me of a breach of compliance is dated 30/10; up until then, I had no idea whatsoever.
With respect to claiming a refund from my payment provider, you are clearly referring to section 75a of the consumer credit act 1974; I've tried before, it took a whole year and I only got half. Thus, unless ebay is willing to demonstrate some flexibility, it's case closed.

Mentor11 months agoEbay just inform you of item recall, they are not the seller.
You need to sort this with seller, if any issues contact citizens advice for help.

I'm afraid that your opinion doesn't come into it. 30 days is what you accepted in the user agreement. After that, the seller is entirely responsible for any action required.
You haven't told us when you bought this, or whether the seller is in the UK or abroad, but if they won't take responsibility your payment provider may still be able to help.
By the way, remember that it was your choice to buy this on eBay, which specifically warns buyers that they don't guarantee that items sold here will be truthfully or accuratey described, or will even be safe or legal. Would you have bought from a shop that stated this??
eBay is a jungle. You can't say that you were not warned.
