Bought a battery power saw first time I used it burst into flames, ebay says I'm past the sellers return date ? But its faulty?

But its faulty? eBay warns buyers in the user agreement that they don't guarantee the quality of items bought here, or that they will be truthfully described, safe - or even legal! Never imagine that buying from unknown sellers here is like buying from the shops. Would you buy from a shop that stated this? eBay's money back guarantee covers most items bought here, but only for 30 days from the date of delivery. After that they have no interest, whatever happens. If your seller doesn't want to know (and many don't!) and the maker's warranty is meaningless or invalid, as they often are for iyems bought on eBay, your best hope is they your payment provider e.g. credit or debit card issuer may be able to help. Failing that, you may have to consider your statutory consumer rights. First make sure that your seller is a UK registered seller, as if they're abroad you're unlikely to have any meaningful projection. If they're a UK business seller, best to start by consulting citizens advice or a solicitor. You may be able to use the online court claims system, but there are no certainties - least of all when dealing with distant, uncooperative eBay sellers. Good luck, but in future remember that eBay is a jungle.

I think payment provider would be a far easier way to get a refund, especially if seller is outside the UK. Ebay money back guarantee is only for 30 days, so I resume you are over this time.
