Damaged item in transit
Hi,
I posted a mug well wrapped in bubble wrap and wedged in a small box with more bubble wrap so it wouldn’t move, I put fragile stickers on the box - which i think is an incentive to give it a good kick around sometimes - it has arrived at the buyer’s broken. I was sent a picture of it in bits. It wasn’t like this when i posted it via simple delivery Evri. The buyer sent the photos 2 days ago and hasn’t requested a refund by I’m feeling bad that something i posted so carefully has arrived like this. Does eBay take the funds directly from me if the buyer requests a refund or is it covered by buyer protection, it’s hard to find in help what to do or process to follow if a perfect item arrives damaged and broken. I want to message the buyer and suggest a solution but not sure where or how to go about it.

Mentor1 year agoIf you used the Simple Delivery process, then the buyer here should open a case for a refund citing, 'damaged in transit'.
Under SD rules , eBay pick up the refund, pay the buyer, and you get to keep the original payout.

Simple Delivery has not been welcomed by many, but this is one of its biggest advantages !
