Damaged goods
I sent an item (picture) to a buyer and packed securely. However the item has arrived to day and is broken. the buyer has requested a return and refund! How do I stand on this? The picture was obviously damaged in transit, so am I liable to refund as its I dont feel its my fault???

·3 months agoDid you send the picture using Ebay Simple Delivery?
The label would have had 'Marketplace Seller' at the bottom.
It does look as if it was listed with Simple Delivery.
So, IF you used a Simple Delivery label and IF the buyer opens a return through Ebay, stating the item 'arrived damaged', then Ebay will deal with the buyer and refund them without any cost to you.
Has the buyer opened a return using the Ebay Money Back Guarantee?
If not, guide them towards doing that.

Was this a Simple Delivery transaction?
If so, then if the buyer opens a case for item not as described, but citing damaged in transit, then eBay should take over the refund, and you get to keep the payment.
Whatever the outcome for you, your buyer needs to open that case to receive a full refund.
