Customs and buyer national id
Good morning
ive recently sold an item from UK to USA and added the shipping label and the customs form which I signed.
packlink have emailed asking I provide a digital copy of this now and it’s being held in customs. I can complete everything aside from the buyers national ID, I am adding my national insurance number, the buyer is declining to provide a similar USA equivalent.
my understanding is that the package may be returned or abandoned. Money is being held for 2 days after delivery by eBay.
I have advised packlink of this and asked the buyer for a solution. Am I going to loose the item and be liable for costs to ship it to the customs depot and back UK side. I’ve done everything I can to get the item to the buyer. I’ve also added increased cover for the ful value of the item if this is relevant.
