Mentor3 months agoeBay won't get involved with this, buyers purchase from eBay sellers, not eBay. They have a 30 day Money Back Guarantee/Buyer Protection and you're obviously way past that now.
If your seller is a UK registered business seller you could contact Citizens Advice or one of the online consumer forums to ask about pursuing this via a legal claim.

OP3 months agoI feel that ebay should investigate a counterfeit claim if it falls outside a 30 day period for a number of reasons but also appreciate there is an argument on both sides of the fence as it were…. I just want to try and get a formal decision from ebay on it.
I appreciate the time and comments

Mentor3 months agoEbay MBG is only for 30 days, so they won't help now.
Try your payment provider.
If it was UK business seller, contact citizens advice.

OP3 months agoThanks for replying… i will approach my payment provider. However, counterfeit goods are unlawful, and my complaint is that eBay facilitated a transaction for an item that was not genuine…. I feel that goes legally beyond the 30days mbg. Just trying to get hold of someone in ebay who will review it and give a formal decision. Thanks again for taking time to reply.

Mentor3 months agoAll listings say seller is responsible for their item.
Ebay never see the item so won't know if genuine or not.
This is why they always believe buyers If they claim not as described, but case has to be opened within 30 days.
